Every autumn, antique and art buffs head to the Northeast Illinois town of West Dundee for its annual Heritage Fest. This year’s event will be September 14-16, 2018. Plan to stay at The Mansion Bed and Breakfast in town and you’ll be within walking distance of the various events.
The West Dundee Heritage Fest is multi-day celebration, highlighted by an Antique & Vintage Market. Dubbed “My Favorite Things,” the market brings together seasoned vendors selling a range of items, such as depression glass, furniture and home accessories, and jewelry.
Another major feature is an Art & Craft Fair with more than 100 artisans showcasing their works. The selection is expansive and includes watercolors, metal art, primitive and country crafts, knitting, jewelry, and honeys and dips.
The fest kicks off Friday evening with a Business & Not-For-Profit Expo featuring foods, games, activities, and a 30-minute fireworks display. Saturday activities include 5K and 1.6-mile fun runs; a team Baggo Tournament; and the popular Heritage Fest Cool Car Show, which brings together a selection of autos, from rat rods to classic antiques. The Car Show continues on Sunday. Visitors will find a range of entertainment all weekend, including local and national musicians, children’s performers, a kids’ toy area, a food tent, and more.
